I wanna oc my barton 2500 to 2.2-2.3 ghz( don't have it yet.. ..)

What memory would be efficient for oc this cpu ( i'm not gonna overlock the memory itself..)

Unfortunately XMS 3200LL 256 MB is kinda out of question , coz where I live ( Hong Kong) it costs $88.
What other memory is good but cheaper (i wanna get 2x 256 mb)?

How about XMS 3200C2 256 MB or Kingston Value RAM?

hurrah, my 1000th post here at AT

*cough*

anyways

i think regular XMS 3200 C2 is just fine. You can probably get it to run at tight timings like the LL anyways.

/me waits for shady06 to come in and say 'LL is a waste of money, get regular XMS and run it dual channel!' 😛

If I remember Right, Kingston, Corsior (probibly spelt rong), OCZ, and Micron are all brands that can be trusted, btw, whatever Happened to Muskin? I mean about a year ago there was a huge push to get Muskin memory.

It is fairly new, any Im not to sure of its quality. I would look at the newegg.com ratings for it before making your decision.

Pretty much anything as long as it's PC3200... low timings are nice, but only account for 100-300 points in PCMark's memory benchmark. As long as you can run 7-3-3-2.5 it'll be fine.

So can i run XMS3200C2 at 7-3-3-2.5?

Actually, you should be able to run it at 2-3-3-6 (or 6-3-3-2 the way you wrote it I guess, backwards) if
this is the ram you are talking about.

At 400mhz of course. Any more than that and it's a crapshoot, like any overclocking.

What he said.

What I meant was even if you get crappy PC3200 value RAM it should at least run at 7-3-3-2.5
