the mp3 player i'm close to buying has an FM tuner w/ the capability of recording off the radio. it's the kind of mp3 player that does NOT play cd's--that is to say, it's one of them teeny tiny ones. i don't want one that plays burned cd's because to me that's pointless. the whole point is to eliminate that step. anyhow, what i want to know is whether or not it's possible to hook up this type of player to the car's tape deck and listen to my mp3's? any sort of cable media available?

i hope it's clear what i'm asking.

Yup...if you have a tape adapter (the same kind you'd get with a discman) you can just plug it into the headphone jack of the player and stick the tape adapter into your deck. Same as using a discman.

You can buy a tape adapter for $10-20, an FM transmitter for $15-30, or, if your deck has a jack, a cable that would run around $5
