Not the hardware thingie topic yet!

Hello! I know this is not a hardware topic but bear with me. Im kinda new to the forums! Been reading them awhile! So I decided to register due to I am getting ready to build my first machine. (NOTE: I've had 3 machines but never built one) So far I have seen some incredible information on these boards.

You guys (and girls) are pruddy smart!!

So please have patience with me when I ask a stupid question!

I have a pretty good idea what I want and I will be buying piece meal the "stuff" I need. Every time I read these post I get a new idea or think about things alittle differently.

Example was the cooling sink and fan combo. I decided on a particular setup but started to read these some of the postings and now I believe I am alittle bit smarter about what I really need and want.

Well that's about it for now and I do believe everyone will be helping me in the future. Thanks

Oh! My name Pingjockey comes from I was a sonar technician on a US submarine in the early to mid 80s. It has nothing to do with me having the knowledge to ping from one IP address to another. Did I type that right??

Ask away!!! Enjoy the threads and posts. I know I do. I think the people that don't appreciate these boards have a chip on their shoulder about something or other. I go over to other hardware forums occasssionally but none of the ones I have seen are as good as the Anandtech forums. Just my opinion and wanted you to know that I will be happy to help in any way I can as soon as I get a chance to read your questions...
