I do not work for Thomas Distributing or sell these batteries myself. I own their charger and a set of their batteries and have been very pleased with their performace. I posted this after reading numerous posts recently about people buying Digital Cameras. THAT IS ALL.

This is a great charger, and the batteries from this company are excellent quality. It even includes a 12 volt CAR adaptor!

What's Included in the
MAHA MH-C204F-4AA160DC POWEREX COMBO KIT:

1 - C204-F NiMH / NiCD Smart Charger
1 - 500mA AC Adapter for 120V AC Operation
4 - Maha POWEREX "AA" 1600 mAH NiMH Batteries
1 - 12V Car Power Cord
Allows full 12 Volt operation from your
cars lighter plug !

Regular Price if purchased separately: $41.30

Your Price $35.90 ea.

This may not be the cheapest charger+battery set out there, but I think it is one of the BEST. Thomas Distributing ships fast and has great customer service.

If you purchased a Digital Camera recently you owe it to yourself to at least check this site out. You will not be disappointed. IMHO

While that may not be the best combo package for myself, I totally agree that Thomas-Distributing is the BEST. I myself prefer to buy the overnight charger and 12 batteries for around the same price. After more than 2 years of digital camera use, all 12 are still as good as the day they were bought, and with the overnight charger, you can leave a set in the charger at all times, without worrying about overcharging or damaging them.

Bigger is better when it comes to mHA batteries and 1400's will be depleted very quickly by todays power hungry cameras. You can buy NiMH batteries at Wal-Mart, but they won't be 1550-1600 mAH. Just my 0.02 worth.

No offense Maverick319, but you sould like you're selling these yourself.....kinda the wrong forum for this.....

Also...don't forget that NiMH batteries lose a few percent charge every day...so keeping a usuable extra set handy requires a bit more. Of course, forget Ni-cad, and Li-Ion are just too expensive.

:)

My two griping cents....

Edit:
HEHehhehe...I knew this would cause some edits.... :)

I've bought from thomas Dist. before, and got a great price on some AA rechargables, shipped the next day. Been using them w/ my Nikon coolpix for about a year now, and nothing but success. I had a set of energisers that my camera ate in about 2 hours, so I decided I needed some rechargables. I picked up some Kodak batteries w/ charger from J&R, but I wanted a few extra sets. This is definitely the place to go.

I will vouch for Thomas Distributing as well (I do NOT work for them). Decent company and good prices. Get the MAHA charger that they carry, it works great.

I got this setup from Thomas Distributing and I am very happy with it. This is one investment I didn't regret. Excellent battery life and the full charge time is only 3-4 hrs or so.

yes, these do rocks
my coolpix was slurping up energizers and duracell disposables like no tomorrow until i snagged a set of these bad boys. now i can shoot and flash away to my heart's content. these things seems to hold more charge that fresh disposables. great stuffs. if you have digital camera, u gotta have these. don't get those cheap ratshack stuff, you'll regret it.

I remember I got 12 1500mah batteries at eb@y for around $26 shipped early this year.
I have a Kodak digicam, it came with a charger. Why are you guys purchase another charger? Is your digicam comes with charger?

I received a charger with my Kodak DC280, but the charger from Thomas Distributing was much better. It will:

Charge AA and AAA
Comes with a DC adaptor so you can charge your batteries in your car if need be
Is more portable and doesn't plug directly into the wall socket

And most importantly has a Discharge feature that will completely drain the batteries before recharging them to condition them.

I know NiMh don't retain a memory like NiCAD's do, but I have noticed that my batteries last longer in my camera after several recharges in this charger. With my old charger the batteries would go after 30 shots, but with the new one I can double or triple that before putting in a new set. YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY, YOU BE THE JUDGE IF THIS IS VALUABLE TO YOU. MY 0.02

Hard to beat this deal though Outpost Batteries & Charger with the FREE overnight shipping!:Q
You can always buy the better batteries later since you will probably want extras. Just my 2 cents.:)
Hmmm...that link isn't working now! Oh well here is the item/sku #: 53570 www.outpost.com
They also have a GREAT deal on CD Jewel cases: 25 for $7.95 Shipped!(That's about .32 each)

The outpost one is cheap, $15
But I think MAHA charger is the best out there. Furthermore, there is on spec on the battery at outpost (1400mah?).

I went to Fry's 2 weeks ago. They had Rayovac Charger (4AA or AAA, NiCD,NiMH or rechargeable alkaline) at $9.95 but free after rebate if you buy 2 Royovac rechargeable battery packs.

The Maha Charge is a quick charger. I can't wait over night or 12 hours when the batteries are dead. With the Maha Charger, you're all set in like 3 hrs or so.

i wonder which is better, the 1600mah or the new 1550 mah batteries. obviously the 1600 has a better stated capacity, but on the specs page it says the 1550 actually hold a much higher charge in reality(1700)

i think they are made by the same manufacturer so quality would be the same. i got my nikon cp800 on tuesday, but unfortunately i had left the night before to go home for thanksgiving, so now i cant play with my new toys until sunday nite! argggg! i dont want to buy the batteries myself because it is a good gift for others to buy me. unfortunately i totally see people buying me radiosheet batteries anyways because thats what they see in the mall and dont know the difference. sigh...

Ok, I changed the name of this thread. The goal of this thread is not to find the CHEAPEST Charger or NiMh Batteries, just provide feedback on what we have found to be the BEST BATTERIES AND CHARGER IN REAL WORLD USE. That is all. If you find something that makes your experience with your Digital Camera (Or any battery powered device) better, then we collectively have done our job. If you want the cheapest batteries and charger out there, you will find better deals than this but you get what you pay for with NiMh batteries, no overclocking here.

I also got these batteries and charger a few months back. I even get "free" batteries at work. They last forever.

I do have a question though. How do you know when they are charged? My light doesn't blink or anything. I have to put them in the camera to check them.

Wrong place to ask, but....

Why aren't Li-Ion batteries available and/or used?

Far as laptops go, they're the best way. No memory, more capacatiance(power) per ounce, and don't lose charge over time like NiMH.....

Just curios....

I've got to agree with Redline. The Outpost offer is great deal even if they aren't 1600mAH batteries. $15 shipped for a 4 nimh batteries and a charger isn't bad at all!
