Got four chestnut trees delivered today. Each are around 6 feet and should be producing in a couple years. Ahh, life in the country :D

Awesome :) My yard is sooo fvcking small - I could only plant one - a peach tree. It's already producing, though :)

I have just under 1.5 acres, and no trees. Put in a few maples and dogwoods last fall, and maybe a few more. Dang leach field takes up a good bit of room though. Don't want a tree over that plugging it up.

I hear that certain smokeable plants, which will not be named here, grow like crazy over leach fields. They are annual so you don't have to worry about the roots, either. ;)

It is my understanding that Chestnut trees in the US are almost certain to get Chestnut blight fungus and die. Good luck to you.

I thought chestnut trees needed a partner to bare fruit (which you have) and it also takes ~10 years of maturity for them to do so. This is completely from memory of about 6 years ago when my grandpa was showing me his.
