Yup. Classes cancelled this friday will be nice though. Turns out actually after looking it up this friday isnt even Lincoln's Bday. Weird.

Alright but FDR helped us in the great depression (where if we didnt get out of that, we wouldnt have TVs)...

I get that. But like I said, FDR helped us in the great depression. Washington's and Lincoln's Bday are on the calendars. And there's also President's Day. Celebrating Washington's I'll give you since he was the first president ever.

I mean, granted im in IL (which is why we get the day off Im assuming) but Im just wondering why is Washington and Lincoln's birthdays marked on the calendar and not other prominent presidents?

I don't know about anyone else, but I find it somewhat sad yet shocked that people do not know who this great man was and what he did to bring this country back together from war that was splitting the country in half over economics and human dominance.

He ended slavery? Presided over a split nation and healed it back together? Have you read Lincoln's speeches? He was a great man. That's why we celebrate his birthday and not McKinley's birthday or Harding's.

I know that. Im asking why is his birthday on the calendar while other presidents' bdays arent? Other presidents did OTHER great things in office too. I mentioned this twice now, but why doesnt FDR get a day? He did help us survive through the Great Depression.
