Should be out, but hard to find them. But why would you want one of them? Unless you have a reason, and even then, the visual quality is still worse than a real professional grade card.

warrenton,
the 2D guys at our company wants to put them in our new Dell systems. They got the systems with TNT2U but the want to swap out those for a Quadro2. I suggested them to try get the Wildcat since they had the option.. but I guess they didnt want to get that.

Do they need to do 3D rendering with those machines? if not, I would recommend they get Matrox G400's instead. the 2D image quality is much better on those than any nvidia product.

Hardware T&L really helps in 3D modelling apps which support OpenGL. Also, in the past G400 OpenGL drivers have had problems allocating 32bit Z-buffer which is essential for professional 3D applications. As long as OpenGL is supported, a quality GeForce card whose 2D isn't crippled by cheap components on the PCB, is IMO a much better choise for 3D modelling than G400.

jpprod, how is the 2D on OEM Creative Labs GF2 cards? I'm thinking about getting one of these, but the 2D quality has me concerned. Is it as good as a Voodoo 3? Thanks!

I heard the 2D isn't up to much, and definitely not up to Voodoo 3's standard - particularly if you are planning to run your desktop at fairly high resoltions...

oldfart: Can't say I have any first-hand experiences with that brand, but being a major manufacturer, Creative is propably on the better side in terms of component quality. On the other hand, in terms of their track-record things don't look so good - according to several reviews here in Finland, some early Creative Annihilator (SDR) GeForces had worse 2D quality than older Creative TNT card used in comparison.

As for GeForce2 and 2D quality, from actual GF2 card reviews I've read nothing but complements. Most users who I've heard complain have said bad things about Hercules/Guillemot and ELSA.
