Pretty sure the mods can do a cursory look over the last few weeks and notice a pretty sharp uptick in the amount of Intel i7-3770k's being listed in FS/FT, generally listed BNIB, sealed, or otherwise brand new and fairly significantly under "retail".
I don't have a problem with a good deal. Only thing is I'm guessing *most* of these listings are going to be processors that were obtained from the Intel (Holiday 2012) Retail Edge program which is going on right now. I'm not even going to care about the resale markup in this case (which is usually about 100%), but the fact that the Retail Edge program items are intended as NOT FOR RESALE.
The catch-22? I'm not sure if there's any way you can determine, short of requiring the poster to provide an original invoice for inspection, whether the CPU was acquired from Retail Edge. I know they USED to (way back when) have NFR stickers on the boxes. AFAIK the last few years the boxes were simply retail boxes with no sort of differentiating markings.
Either way, I just wanted to point out that the intention of the Retail Edge program is that these are provided as NFR items, hence having them listed is obviously breaking the already listed forum rules. As I said, I doubt there's much that can be done about it, but I at least wanted to make you all aware of it.
