Not sure which way to go

I currently have a 3200+ Venice overlcocked to 2.4 on water.

I am getting ready to upgrade my video card and because I have a maze4 GPU block on my current card, (AIW X800XT) I am getting a X1950XTX since the Maze4 will fit and I can get one at a good price.

My question is:

What would be a good choice for a CPU upgrade? MY board is an Asrock 939 DualSATA2 so it will have to be a 939 chip.

Since it is a pain in the butt to take all this apart I would like to upgrade both at once.

I am mostly a gamer so any help will be appreciated. thanks

With your motherboard, I'd get a San Diego 4000, if wanting to stay single core, and an Opteron 180 or 185, if wanting to go dual core. With decent watercooling, either chip should be able to get to roughly 3.0 Ghz, even with your motherboard, I would guess.

2.4ghz on water? My 3000+ hits 2.4ghz on air, with stock HSF and voltage. With corsair valueram. On the same 939dual board that you have.
I'd recommend trying to push the CPU you have harder. If it's still not performing where you want it after that then look into replacing it. I'd do it quick though, 939 CPUs are going the way of the AthlonXP soon.
