i decided to clean out my case with some windex ya know black case + 3 windows + dust = eye sore

i also decided to put a couple cold cathacodes in. i took everything out cleaned the case and put everything back in. i did not plug the lights in just yet i wanted to make sure everything else was working...so i turn it on and it freezes in bios...oh $hit i say to myself...well i cleared the bios and booted up again.....computer wont give me any bios screen....ooooooh $hit i say to myself...then i tried a different video card since i knew the monitor and cable was good after testing it out and then i couldnt get any life not even the fans would spin...OOOH $HIT I SCREAM

sigh..so i put the ti4200 back in and now i can short the motherboard to turn on since the atx power switch wont get it to turn on but i still have no picture.

what the heck is goin on? i called asus to see if they could walk me through some technical possibilities but they r closed and arent going to call me back until the weekend is over. the only thing i can think of is bad agp slot or bad agp card but the lil red warning agp light does not come at all

besides agp slot or agp card what else could be causing the problem?

Wierd. I am assuming you did not try to clean anything electrical w/ windex. My first suggestion would be to reseat all of your cables, power connections, memory, etc. Then power up. Next I would try to reset bios by removing the battery or jumper (check your manual). Next I would remove any extras and boot with minimum (memory and video) then plug and boot one item at a time. Make sure you use a static strap when you play with all this stuff. Good luck.

Sorry, you already reset bios. Did you go all the way of taking the motherboard out? Maybe your mb is shorting on the case when you reinserted.

xp1800
a7n266-e
512 kingston
gf4ti4200 OR integrated gf2

when i took the motherboard out i left it on the mobo slide out tray so i didnt touch he video, cpu, ram, or mobo which makes me wonder why theres a problem with one of these components

*edit* new developments

i tried taking the xp1800 and putting it in a working system and it did not work...then i took the duron out of the same working system and put it in the system in question (the a7n266-e) and it did not work?!?!

Thhhheeen i tried putting the duron1200 back into the k7vta3 and now the working system wont work?!?!?!?!

I hope you were using a good static strap and good earth ground when you did all of this. Maybe you are zapping stuff with static electricity.
