I've recently installed Win 2k (clean install) on a Gateway computer. Was running WinME before, with several problems. It still has problems with crashing and having other errors.
When in the Performance tab in Task Manager the cpu usage graph is mostly red instead of green. Also it will peak out in totaly red and sort of hang for a few seconds. In the event veiwer there are a lot of errors since the install staring on the day of the install. There are errors ranging from i/o errors to hard drive errors to server errors to cdrom errors. I am thinkg bad cpu, motherboard, or ram.
The specs are:
P2 450
128mb generic ram
video ati xpert 128
2-10gb maxtor hdds ultra 33
parallel adaptor for zip 100 plus
hp 9310i cdrw
Toshiba dvd
