Just to clear up somethings, this will be mainly for gaming, its going to paired with a bfg 7800GTOC (1 for now), a A64 37000+ san diego core,, and as for ram Im not sure what to use, but Im nearring my budget limit, was thinking of 2 512 sticks of OCZ dual channel premiere memory

might do some slight OC

Just to clear up some misconceptions, You'll need 2GB of ram long before you need SLI. You'd be better off buying a decent non SLI board. Is your display resolution 1600x1200 or greater?

And an Opteron 146 or 148 would be better for overclocking than the 3700SD
