i have an AMD AthlonXP 1700+, kg7-raid and when i have my clocked at stock (1.47) it would freeze everytime i watched a video, played a game, or had something with noise. it is now clocked down to 1.1ghz and no freezes, but i want my 350mhz!!! someone help me 🙁

1.85 max. If it will not run at rated speed there is something wrong with it so you should probably get a RMA. I wouldn't, but I am lazy. 🙂 I still have a 1600+ sitting here that I have to RMA to newegg because it never posted.

If this problem only occurs when you are doing something that involves sound, how do you know that the problem is not with your sound card? When you underclocked your processor, it probably also underclocked the PCI bus, which could have stopped whatever problem existed with your sound card.

My suggestion: Disable or remove the sound card and clock your machine back up to 1.47 Ghz to see if the processor is really the culprit.

Maybe you need a bigger heatsink/fan. Don´t what you are having but you need a good cooling for an XP 1700.
