I am trying to help a friend with his new computer and it is having all kind of problems. When he tries to install windows, gets a BSOD with the error "stop: 0x0000007B" If he takes out a stick of ram, doesnt matter which one (has 2 mushkin 512 ddr2 sticks) the windows install will continue, the install has crashed randomly sometimes right after the drivers are loaded and once after the first reboot in the install. Have tried different postitions for the ram, trying each stick and they both work when installed seperatly so I am thinking its not the ram. Windows is installed on the computer now and sometimes it will boot with both of the ram sticks installed and memtest was ran on the computer for almost 8 hrs and found no problems. Sometimes while booting into windows with both ram sticks in I get a different stop error "Stop: 0x0000008E" Is it a safe bet that the board is messed up, ordered it online so cant return it unless we are pretty sure it is the board. The system specs are

AMD 64x2 3800+
1gb mushkin 5200 ddr2 (2x512)
asus m2n-e
pci-e 7600gt
430w thermaltake power supply

thanks for any help or advice
