Ok, I installed a new memory stick into my motherboard and rebooted. Booted to BIOS and saw stick running too slow. Manually fixed to correct speed and timings. Rebooted, computer only went as far as the MOtherboard beginning screen, no POST. I rebooted a few times and not success. While booting it made long beeps. I read up and this suggested a hardware failure. Removed new ram stick and no change. Both HD spin up, there was an image on the screen, the optical drives also worked and all fan were going. I figured it was the processor, I'd probably f'ed it up with static as I'd been static shocking everything because of the weather. I order a new processor and replace. Same problem except now, i don't even get the mobo start screen. It could possibly be a bad chip but what else could it be?

ECS KN1SLI Lite MObo
AMD 144 Opteron originally, now AMD 4000+
1 gb OCZ Platinum RAM
Geforce 6600 Video Card

Any ideas welcomed.

Clear the CMOS and retry.

If it works, tell more about the ram being to slow in BIOS b4 messing with it. I.e., what is was set to, and what you think it s/b set to. Link us with the ram specs too.
