Not so Swell Season

So my wife and I attended the Swell Season concert at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga California last night. It was a very enjoyable evening until this happened.

It has to be one of the weirdest/disturbing things I have witnessed in my life.

As long as he didn't hurt anybody else. It's not like there's a socially acceptable way of killing yourself.

there's no justifying it. he could have hurt someone else by landing on them if you want to go there.

Yep, that's how I feel about it. I don't really understand what goes through a persons mind when the do something like this.

I feel really sorry for the band, and especially Glen Hansford and Markéta Irglová. The rest of the band was off stage when it happened. Hopefully they can move past this tragic event. They are scheduled to perform today up in Portland - I hope they do OK.

usually, and I'm no psychiatrist here, but people that do or attempt suicide are A) not rationally thinking B) are extremely self centered and do not take into consideration how their action may affect others C) all of the above

Thanks, we are doing OK.

It's going to be strange going back up to venue - we have a couple more concerts we were going to see this year.

They released the guys name and more info - he was facing charges of assault with a firearm, domestic violence and false imprisonment. What a guy .

"Michael Edward Pickels, 32, was out on $150,000 bail at the time of his death, twice the typical bail amount for such charges, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office. He was scheduled to be in court on Oct. 5."
