Not-so-smart questions from potential eBay bidders...

Description of 1 of my auction:
"NHL Hitz Pro (2004) Factory Sealed...NR"

I got an email with the question:
"Is this game new?"

Another auction I'm selling a camera flash, I get an email asking:
"I'm in Zipcode xxxxx, how much is the shipping?" and "Is this a new item or used?"

My response:
"there's a shipping calculator at the bottom of the auction" and "yes, it is used but in mint condition" (which is what the description says in the auction)

then later today, I get an email from the same guy:
"Is it gray market? Or USA Warranty?"

Should I even bother responding to this guy?

I'd respond otherwise you lose out on a potential buyer.

You just gotta bare with them.

If you think of yourself as a legitimate business, it becomes easier.

Always answer emails promptly and curteously, that lets them know you are for real.

I get it all the time. If it's a popular item, I don't bother responding.

I auctioned off a couple of game systems a couple years ago. You'd get the kiddies asking you to "end your auction early" and offer you a price, which would be about 1/2 what it would actually go for.

There are some "dumb" questions like the first one, but what's wrong with this one? Unless it's mentioned in your description, I don't see how you could fault this guy for asking considering the sh*t some sellers pull with gray market goods.

Cost of doing business. You gotta deal with the people who's brain get's checked at the door (if they had one to begin with) when they are out to buy something. Still sucks.
