Not Satisfied with Cooling Pads

I have this cheap cooling pad, but I'm not satisfied with its fan blowing air to my laptop. So I decided to replace its fan with a handy mini USB fan because it can blow air. I can even feel the air when I'm a little bit further, plus its cheaper. Is it okay to modify my cooling pad with this idea? Image below is what I meant.
