Not safe even with patches.

I just bought, because of the my desperation for a good PC game, Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.

I even installed the 1.2 patch. And guess what! I'm stuck in the tutorial. This guy, Jack, tells me to get into this door and Idk how to get it open. I've tried a lot of buttons - It could only be a bug.

This game and this developer need a swift kick in the nuts. How do you make a game like this? The worst part is that the game looks like it has awsome potential. I would even forgive the buggy, non-polished graphics, but a bug that stops you from playing the game. WTF?!

UPDATE: if you refuse his help, the story continues. It still sucks though. Collision detection really sucks.

The game itself is awesome. I suggest you play it anyways. I never encountered any gamestopping bugs. A few crashes here and there were all I ever encountered. The unofficial community patch is supposed to resolve the few game stoppers that do exist.

The reason the game is horrible is because most of the team was let go or moved months before completion. It could have easily been a huge hit - it is one of the best RPGs. If they had taken the time to polish it and let the team finish I think there could have been a sequel or spinoff such as a Werewolf game.

Jack is the coolest NPC ever.

Edit: And deffinitely install that community update. Don't shrug it off simply because it's not official, the developers no longer exist or there would be a similar official patch.

That would read a lot better if you had said "The reason the game is bug-ridden" because it certainly isn't horrible.

I have no choice but to go unofficial. It's installed and I'm hoping for the best.

That really sucks that they did that to the team. I see killer potential as well.
