Not recognizing DVD-RW drive?

I just built my new PC (points to sig) last weekend and since then have reformated it and installed *legitimate* Windows XP (just to test it I installed old Win XP OEM from Gateway system). Anyway, I did run F.E.A.R. before reformating and adding the new XP and it worked fine. NOW, I'm finally getting ready to install BF2, insert the disk into the drive............ and nothing comes up. I figure weird, Auto run isnt working, so I go to "My Computer" and find there's no D: drive- only a floppy (A🙂 and my HDD (C🙂. Any idea why this is happening, since it was fine before?

happened to me just couple days ago after rewiring my case. turns out my HDD cable was loose 😛. Might want to check inside your pc for loose connections and such
