Not receiving SMS from certain contacts all of a sudden

So for some reason I'm not receiving text messages from at least 2 people in my contacts. Started happening sometime last month. I have an s8+, att and use Messages app v2.2.076. I've tried force stopping and clearing cache for both the Messages app and my contacts list, as well as remove my contacts and re-add them but it's still not working.
