Not Really Sure (Inspired by Katrina, but not really about that)

suppose you stocked up enough food/water/supplies to last you and your family two-three weeks (either you a were a good boy scout and are always prepared or you ran out to the store when the first warnings were issued) if a natural disaster took place...

anyway, the disaster comes, three days later, no one has any water or food. How much, if any, of your water/food do give out? How would you decide who, if anyone, would be the recipient of your kindness?

I searched on survive and survival and didn't see anything relevant, so this shouldn't be a repost...

***Poll added*** no maybes...sorry

None? Sorry, but if I have a family, I have to worry about myself first. If I were not affected by the disaster, it would be different.

Closest friends and possibly neighbors, that's it. Everyone else can fend for themselves. This is assuming we'll all be rescued in short order. If we're looking at a massive natural disaster like a magnitude 8.0+ quake in the PNW, I'd head for some relatives' houses in Oregon, eastern Washington, or California.

One of my dearest friends has a cattle ranch pretty much in the middle of nowhere. He has enough food, water, and supplies to last 8 people one year......and I am one of those 8 people.
