Not sure if it has anything to do with me getting older but I find movies and television shows too predictable. But a (well-done) documentary is far more enjoyable, IMHO. Anyway, I found this site and was hoping there are other sources of documentaries. My favorites deal with crime, science, and history.

My favourite show on TV at the moment is Air Crash Investigation. It's like an ongoing documentary series about aeroplane accidents. I think it might go by the name Mayday in USA.

I haven't gotten into documentaries much, but as far as books go, I've found myself reading a lot more non-fiction (mostly history) than fiction in the past few years, which might also be due to getting older.

180 south is a pretty good one, great scenery.

I liked this this one a lot actually.

I also recommend 'Still Bill', a documentary about Bill Withers. It's on Netflix streaming.

"Hoop Dreams" is another classic documentary. Highly recommended.

Watched Battle for Marjah on HBO last night. That was pretty good. Restrepo connects you more to the soldiers, but this was great for a straight up account of this singular battle/mission.

What are your favorite crime documentaries? I love the ones where they explain how people pull off big heists.
