I just built my first ever PC, and after two days of fighting hardware issues, I've finally got it running stable. However, I noticed a bit of a strange issue. It seems just a detail, but I'm not sure what else might be affected. When I first fired up the machine and loaded Windows, I installed and played a bit of Morrowind. When I played it then, I noticed the water looked almost realistic, and I remeber reading that this is an effect of pixel shading (I think). Well, now that I've got the machine up and running, I reinstalled Morrowind, and now the water looks totally different and fake, like it looks on my friend's machine (Duron and GeForce2 MX based). I have an Athlon XP 2000 and a GeForce4 Ti4200 128, and the first time I ran it, the pixel shading seemed to be working perfectly. Now it appears not to be. I didn't install anything differently the first time, as I didn't have much time to install anything. I've now updated my nVidia drivers to 30.82, and updated my VGA BIOS to the latest version, but still the pixel-shading doesn't seem to work, if that's indeed what's going on. There's no settings in Morrowind for that (there aren't really any display options at all). I've gone through my advanced display settings, but I couldn't find anything related to pixel shading there either.
Any suggestions as to what this might be or how I might fix it? I'm running Windows XP Home with 512 MB of system RAM (PC2700), and as I said before a GF4 Ti4200 128 (made by MSI).
Thanks!
