Not playing sound from voice audio?

I just downloaded Black Hawk Down, and I started watching it. People started mouthing words, and I figured it was supposed to be like that. But now I skipped ahead to where they definitely should be talking, and there is no audio from them talking. There is plenty of sound from the background noises and music though. Is this a problem with the file I downloaded? Or and I doing something wrong? I tried this on "The Great Raid". Another movie I downloaded. And its the same thing.

EDIT: Sorry for the misunderstanding. This was a file that I loaded from my friend. I am assuming he got it legally, since I haven't known him to download illegally. Mabye he did something with it? I dont know, I'l ask him for more info.

But has this ever happened to you? And if so, was it the file? Or was it your speakers or something else?

um...downloaded eh?.... hope its legal.

Sounds like you are playing a surround sound track back on a non 5.1 system. Either that or if its "illegal" then the person likely did it wrong.

EDIT: saw your edit.

Check you speaker setting to make sure they are set to 5.1. What 5.1 system do you have?

I just did that test where it plays noise in all the speakers. I only hear sound in the front right and left.

I have recently installed a new sound card. I checked the settings, and I htink they are set right. So Im confused now.

No. And now I cant get it back to how it was before. It was working before. On this card. Now its all screwed up where the sounds supposed to be in the front are coming from the back. I even switched cord (the green and black for front and back) and it doesn't work.

When you switched the cords the sound stayed in the same speakers??

No, it changes. I put them all where they are supposed to be, and now the 2 front speakers work fine, but the center/sw, and the rears don't.

EDIT: I switched the center/sw, and the rear, and nothing happened.

Never mind, I fiddled with the cords a little, and they work now. It still doesn't work with the speaker test program, but it works with the movie now. Thanks!
