you would never notice your ISP being down with a modem that slow. You probably take so long trying to connect and load pages that the ISP would have their problem fixed by the time your modem realized what was going on.

I'm completely in the dark as far as pricing goes. I'm technically not even allowed to speculate on pricing.

I believe, though, that the DSL line (640/272K) itself is around $20-25 a month, & then you need an ISP on the other end which generally will run you another $20-25 a month.
