Not needed vacation

Anubis ha s contacted because of this thread were he was given a vacation for writing the forbidden acronym. He had no idea it was a forbidden acronym because as a lot of members do use an "!" to replace letters in forbidden words and naturally he did this so he was unaware. He is also confused about why that warrants a vacation when saying sh!t with an "!" is acceptable while what he did is a grounds for a vacation. There should be a part in the forum faq that tells which words are bannable/vacationable. He also appologizes for using it unaware it was forbidden and will agree not to do it again.

The lack of a mod response in this thread leads me to believe that the rules are only enforced when it's convenient or someone is in a bad mood. It couldn't be that way if there were actually a list of enforced rules.

how can you post as much as he does and not know? he's a freakin lifer.

Just because he is a lifer doesnt mean he reads all of the threads ever made.

Quite a weak defense he has there. He knows that members replace i with ! in forbidden words so he went ahead in did it anyways why?

I agree that your argument blows holes in his claim of ignorance but why is it OK to defeat the filter sometimes and not others?

Just depends who is on duty that day.

Surely you see a problem with that.
It's unfair sometimes, but the Mods are not paid and they have different personalities. What one Mod finds offensive (and gives out a vacation), another may think is funny (and just laugh).
What you say? Put it in writing and everyone will know the rules? I say hogwash. Too much work for an Internet forum. Beside, how long has the Constitution been around? It's still being argued over.

maybe this is me being a n00b here (most likely the case) but couldnt you just add the forbidden acronyms into the filter?

they are, ppl swap out letters to get around it, kinda like swearing. imho all of that should get a ban. it would end rather quickly.

I think some light swearing should be allowed. I dont think swearing is that bad, but yeah some other "acronyms" that ive seen people use should be added to filter...

the DHIT....acronyms are all restarting as well...

What I find most funny is many of the people blantantly bending rules are the first to cry to FI or a mod for intervention.

Thats um kind of funny cause I think it is kind of ridiculous too. We should be able to know what we are not supposed to be able to do.

yeah but if they set a defining standard of what words are acceptable and what arent, should they delete the older threads that have those words in them? if not then its a double standard kind of thing... Basically the mods will have to go and find every instance of all the "forbidden words" and either delete that person's post, or delete the thread. Otherwise people are going to start throwing a fit.

Thats probably the main reason no "official list" has come out yet...

I have read this excuse so many times it almost makes my head spin. How do you know that the mods are not paid? You have just read this so many times you think you know it to be true.
