Not much use in getting a flu shot if I've already been part of this years' outbreak, right?

See title. I know I'm going to pay for mine from now on, regardless. I just need to know if I should take advantage of the free shots they're giving out at the moment.

If the shot is free and you are well, there is no reason not to take it. There are several strains of the flu that go around during the winter, and the flu shot could protect you from getting sick again.

This years vaccine reportedly only covers you for 20% of the strains going around right now. I'm not getting it, I wouldn't either if I were you.

So you already had the flu once this year, the shot doesn't help in up to 80% of the varients, and you have to pay to get the shot?

No way. The shot probably isn't going to help you.

Did you see the closing statement of my post? "I just need to know if I should take advantage of the free shots they're giving out at the moment." It's all over the news. People are lining up everywhere for FREE flu shots. Also, that's probably 20% whaich are the most likely to spread. I will be paying next year because waiting for the free shots certainly didn't work out this year.

I get the flu nearly every year (Every year that I can remember). I was so miserable this year that I will never tolerate it willingly again so I'm paying up.
