If I had to pick the LG6 vs the S8, I'd pick the LG6 for 2 reasons.
1) Flat screen
2) Longer battery.
Do I wish the LG6 had the SD835 ?? Of course but I detest edge screens.
My problem is that the 5.8" LG6, with its new aspect ratio has the same width as a 5.5" phone so I'm looking for something bigger.
Heres wishing the V30 will have the same design with a 6.2" screen. Basically make a S8+ with a flat screen and I'll be drooling.
That is why I got a Leeco Le Max 2... I hate edged screens.... It is so... Fragile.

Yes, I had that happen the other day. Couldn't figure out why my taps were not registering. The case I have my 7 Edge runs pretty close to the edges, so it was only by chance my other had was located where it prevented my tap from registering. Yet another thing to have remember about the device. Sigh...

I do find this occurring far less often on the S8+ vs my previous S7 Edge, likely due to the different slope of the curves. It's to the point it doesn't bother me (unlike the S7 Edge).

As for battery life, I've mentioned in the S8 thread but I'm frankly shocked at the excellent battery life of the S8+. I could get by with the S7 Edge barely but the S8+ is at least 1/3 better in real life usage. Everything I've seen also shows the normal S8 lasting significantly longer than the G6.

But the 1/2 price Next deal being run by AT&T would make this a no brainier for me if I was upgrading my parent's phones vs the S8.

So it sounds like the S8 is like the Note 7 was. In the two months I had the N7, I didn't have a single unwanted edge touch.

Yeah the S8 edges are done like the Note 7, which is a much better design than the S7E. It's a very noticeable difference.

The G6 has much better audio than the S8. I'm personally waitiing to see what the N8 brings (I'm on a N4). I just don't like the S8/S8+. The N4 can last a couple of more years if it must but if the N8 is nice i might go that route. If I had to buy a new phone today i'd probably take the G6 over the S8 but not sure - need to test one outside in bright sunlight.
