Not many black people in TV commercials...

I was watching the Food Network and DIY Channel and noticed that many if not all of the TV Commercials were beautiful* woman are shown, they are usually White, Hispanic (light skin) or Asian and if there happens to be a Black woman, they are super light skin.

I wonder how Black people feel about these commercials and if they notice it?

Do you also notice this?

* On a personal note, I don't find black woman attractive.

Don't know where you're from but I see plenty of black women in commercials both here and in the US.
 
This is because black people steal things instead of buying them, therefore they don't want them in commercials because it will draw attention to a manufacturer's products to steal.
 
We would need to see data regarding black viewership of the channels you mentioned.

Food network and DIY channel...I have no idea.

it makes more sense to show commercials portraying the races of the viewers.
 
It's the same deal with Hollywood. They have a formula for what resonates with the most people and demographics and by extension will make the most money. Black protagonists don't fit into that equation save for Will Smith, whom after facing a major struggle to get into ID4 has been an exception ever since. Almost everything you see on television is guided by similar principals.

Too many commercials that show white guys as being useless little bitches that fail at everything in life
 
It's funny because the last time I went to Manhattan, there was a huge African American population south of Central Park. Not what I was used to seeing on TV...
 
Why is it that every time I see some "Swiffer sweeper" or other kitchen product, all I see are females.

Men never clean or what?
 
Why is it that I never see a blond guy in anything, except for the show "Vikings"? Why is it always tall dark and handsome.

See romance movies for an example.
 
People can find inequities everywhere if they look hard enough. The trick is to stop looking because all you do is make yourself upset, and it won't do you any good.
