I have a DFI Ultra-D and a Chaintech 6600GT. The POST is fine, goes through SMART and boot options and all that fine, but as soon as it gets into where it would be rendering from the VGA driver and not the video BIOS, the monitor goes black. It's not the installation of Windows because it does the same thing when I boot it up from CD with a 'nix live distro. After this happened, I double-checked my mobo jumper settings to make sure there wasn't anything that may have an adverse effect on video. What is going on here? Has anyone else had a problem like this?

Try setting it so it initializes a PCIe graphics card before it'll initialize a PCI one. Maybe you have some PCI device in the comp that the computer things is a graphics card.

Video priority had occurred to me but I didn't see any option for that in the BIOS settings. It shouldn't matter though since I don't use any PCI devices since network is integrated and I have a professional audio capture box that uses USB/ASIO. A clean installation of Windows seems to have fixed the problem, so I'm betting it was some leftovers on the XP install from my previous motherboard. Fortunately I had backups of virtually everything before I put the new hardware in.
