The person I talked to indicated it should be a nationwide sale, but who knows. I passed up on them - is this a deal worth going back and getting?

Sorry guys, I think I screwed up though I am hoping somebody comes back and says, hey! I found 'em . . .

As far as I can remember, they are excellent for DVD watching but are not the most powerful for gaming. I believe there was significant criticism for the price, which would obviously be ameliorated by this clearance. I know that the 3500s received ample praise, though.

Do these come with speaker stands?

I don't know, this was the retail box . . . do they come in the box???

I am wondering if I might get a nice boost by using the digital connection on my SB Live and replacing my aging Altec ACS45s . . .

I picked up these speakers a few months ago and love them.
They come with 2 floor stands for the rear speakers. The stands are plastic but they work fine.

I bought mine straight from Cambridge when they had the $150 special and thought it was a good deal.

THIS IS FLAMING HOT!!! Several of us bought in on the $149 deal direct from creative.

These speakers sound incredible... don't let anyone tell you any different. Plus, there is a built-in dolby digital decoder (worth some $$ in itself). GO GET IT!

SUPER DUPER HOT!!! These speakers are awesome! I bought a set for $149 three months ago. These are so good, you could use them for a small home entertainment system. Highly recommeded.

BUY THESE!!!! That is an excellent price. I got mine from hifi.comwhen they had their free DVD player promo, these are great speakers esp for the price. If anyone does get in on this deal and has an extra I wouldn't mind picking up one more set.

Another vote to grab them at that awesome price.

WalMart.com does not even have that model listed on the website.

The DTT2500 are NOT the same as the FPS2000! Not even close. If this deal is in-fact true, then it is red hot. The normal price for these speakers is $250+ , and the lowest you can get on price watch is $199.

These were released about the same time as the first klipsch set. Was a lot of talk around the web about which was a better set - basically, they both ended up being about even, with the Cambridge set being slightly better for DVD / movie watching (true 5.1) and the Klipsch set being slightly better for gaming (plus the Klipsch would play at much louder volumes)

I got mine a while back and have loved them since then. Used them with my TV / Home Theater for a brief bit and enjoyed it, but then hooked them up to the computer. Works great and plays plenty loud for mp3s or gaming. Plus there's dual inputs (analog/digital) in the back, so if you're creative you can have them hooked up to two computers and switch back and forth easily. Note you must have a live! soundcard to do digital I think.

$90 is a steal.

Two questions.

Is Super WalMart different from regular WalMart?

Is this sale national or regional or typo?

Good lord that's a good deal! Shoot... that sucks for me cause I was just about to sell mine. I've been using them for 18 months now and I'm about to upgrade to the Klipsch ProMedia 5.1's that are coming out soon. Anyway I love them, but after hearing my friend's ProMedia 4.1's in his dorm room I was soooo jealous and envious. They make my speakers sound "normal".
The retail box does come with the stands... and if they don't include the right hook up I believe you can call Creative up and request a free digital miniplug -> 1/8" plug to hook up to your Live cards. You'll know what I'm talking about when you get it cause most likely you'll end up with this red digital plug that doesn't hook up to anything and looks like something between an svideo or ps/2 connector. I got my adapter sent to me for free cause it wasn't included in my box. I actually have three computers with Live cards hooked up to these speakers at the same time. How is that possible? Well you have the digital and Analog connections, but there's also one more input for the Dolby Digital deciding... it's and RCA-type input... same thing as the coaxial connection in the back of a Dolby Digital receiver where you would hook up the sound from a DVD player. All you need is a 1/8" mono -> RCA adapter or something equivalent... hook up the 1/8" mono plug to the digital out of the Live card and bam, you get stereo sound from the speakers. No need to switch anything, the computer that's hooked up this way will always have sound... and if you press the Dolby Surround button you get dolby prologic surround too. The real benefit of this is if you play DVD's with WinDVD or Power DVD you can choose the SPDIF output and suddenly the dolby digital light on the receiver lights up and that's when you truly release the full potential of these speakers... true 5.1 dolby digital surround sound the way it was meant to be heard. For $90 these spearkers are truly truly a steal!

Dude, What Walmart did you see this, and was it on this planet. The only way Creative Labs DTT2500 speakers could go for that price is if a dead head Walmart employee marked it wrong. If I'm wrong please buy one for me at your store and email me when you get. I'd be glad to pay the shipping cost.

duhhhh
i'm just saying dude asked if the (FPS)speakers were a good deal
someone else asked if they were this price everywhere
so i put that in for some extra info to reduce redundant questions -- hopefully :/
if you'd do a little work and search with "walmart" you'd see they have been having a little clearance for weeks now

edit: a "super" walmart is usually open all night

based on what im seeing pricing/feature wise right now if your in the market for some speakers and want them for you overall cheap setup in a room this is a good deal.

Im using the speakers and only real problem is center speaker is same power as all others and subwoofer is really lacking in oomph when watching movies and stuff.

but overall Im find with the set and will keep them for some time to come on my computer and dvd home theatre cause I have a nice compact setup in my small room here.

I have to admit after listening to Klipsch's Promedias, nothing has then compared to it in the PC multimedia dept, but this is a hot price for a DTT2500 system. I'll be paying a visit to my local Wal Mart although I have never heard of the Super ones.

Nice find X-man.
Go ahead and change your thread title to "White-Hot".
How about this to heat it up even MORE?

PM w/ Staples (listed for $284.99 here).
Add some small $10 item.
Add $25 off $100 coupon as listed at a coupon code site which shall remain anonymous (*cough* f@tw@llet *cough*)

My math goes:
$90 + $10 - $25 + tax = ~$81
Shouldn't be any shipping since you're PM'ing a B&M

Anyone feel free to correct me!
Calling tonight for this deal, BTW.
