Why are you all complaining about this? You do have the option to chose FedEx.... If it's that important to you, simply change the option -_- I have to change the option to switch to USPS shipping so I can ship to my APO and it doesn't seem all that difficult to me...

It costs a good bit more to ship via fedex thats why.

They said their standard shipping is 4-5 days:(

Then they tell me that there is a delay at my particular stop so Its delayed another 2 days:|

So its been almost 2 weeks
THANKS NEWEGG! Enjoy all the money I give you.

If that happened demand a refund on the shipping.

I always pay the little bit more for the FedEx SuperSaver at NewEgg. UPS has broken my stuff and they have lost stuff for me several times. One time they delivered an expensive watch I was getting back from repair to someone who had the same address as me, but the CITY was different. They couldn't get it back, even though they knew where they delivered it!!! Now I am in the process of ordering parts for a new system, and I have selected the slightly more expensive FedEx option for all of it -- with ONE exception. I forgot to click on the SuperSaver in the drop-down box for my hard drive. It was supposed to be here this past Friday, so I arranged for my wife to work from home that day. It was listed under UPS tracking as "Out for Delivery" all day long. Then, later that night it was listed as "Exception" and the explanation was that the box was overlooked at the station, and didn't make it on to the truck. WTF, I thought they scanned that stuff when they put it on the truck?? Anyway, it will be UPS 6-day shipping, not UPS 3-day shipping. And, to make matters worse, neither my wife nor I can be here on Monday -- she can elect to work from home once in a while, but not all the time -- so I won't get the hard drive until Tuesday. Not a big deal, but I had everything else sitting here to assemble over the weekend. The upshot is if I had used FedEx, I would be typing this on my new computer right now. Instead, because of my own carelessness, I won't be able to do that until NEXT weekend! NewEgg used to be known throughout the computer enthusiast community as a company that took care of its customers and ALMOST ALWAYS got your stuff to you even before they promised. You hardly EVER got anything late -- I really can't remember that happening and I have ordered lots of stuff from NewEgg ever since I built my first Pentium II 450. It is unfortunate that they are going to lose that reputation and now there won't be quite as much that separates them from the other guys out there.

I'll throw in my 3 cents worth. The default FedEx delivery was one of the best things NewEgg had going for & it was defitly one of the features that got them where they are. Since the change I've had 3 pkg's delivered by UPS & all 3 had problems. I never ever had a problem with FedEx. Numbers don't lie.

I don't understand this... are you guys doing the default shipping time or the 2nd day? The fedex 2day and UPS 2day should deliver at the same time, correct? I chose 2day UPS just because it wasn't too much more and also I didn't know what the time for the saver version was.

I have a similar story as this. ChiefValue sent my package on Wed, it arrived at local FedEx station Thurs. I think Great, I will have it Friday and be able to assemble my computer over the weekend. Nope, they loaded it on a truck Friday morning, drove it around all day, then returned it to the facility with a note saying "not scheduled for delivery". Needless to say, I am a bit irritated in FedEx. I mean come on, ChiefValue is like 8 hours from my house and it takes FedEx 6 days to deliver it?!?

FedEx, UPS, all the same for me. I never had a problem with any of them. And since Newegg has a warehouse in NJ, I usually get my stuff 3 days after i order them, with Fedex express saver and UPS 3 day.

FedEx was way better for me than UPS...UPS takes a day or two more than FedEx did and UPS just leaves the packages by the door whereas FedEx required a signature.

It's not the prices are actually that much more to use fedex normally. It looks like Newegg wants to go with UPS for some reason and plans to phase out the fedex option with higher prices posted. Newegg probably is saving a few bucks with better discounts using ups...we shall see how those discounts actually pay off over time. Fedex supporter here in case you couldn't tell :)

Thanks, Hank. Your view is important. AT had a lot to do with lending newegg momentum as they were getting established, and as a community, we have a responsibiliy to make sure our endorsement does not follow them as they adopt policies that conflict with the community's best interests.

Seems contract drivers are paid by the package delivered and not by the hour. They also have the option, unlike FedEx employees, to determine when they are done...no matter the time of day or what's been delivered and what's not been delivered.

Opposite experiance here. I had a package last month with UPS that said it was out for delivery. So I was waiting for it. Then I notice around 6pm (they deliver late here) that the tracking number said they tried to deliver but no one signed. (all this time I was near front door, so I didn't miss any doorbell). hahhaahaha, it was ground no signature. So next day its dropped off delivery at my door, they didn't ask for signature. So I'm thinking the driver just put all his packages that no one was home to sign and went home early that evening.

UPS used to be good. They'd knock on the door and you'd sign the electronic pad and everything was cool. Maybe we have a new UPS driver, but the last two things I ordered from Newegg came UPS, and the dude doesn't even ring the bell anymore. Just drops it on the step. UPS doesn't get signatures on delivery anymore? Weird. And he comes a lot later too, usually after 6pm, which doesn't really bother me, it's just odd. They used to deliver in the mornings.

Yes, this is their new policy.

UPS is not working out. I've had to cancel an order with Newegg due to UPS being unable to get it to me. They just kept delivering it when I wasn't home and you can't pick up packages or change the address according to the contract that newegg has with UPS.

It's actually cheaper to buy elsewhere than to pay the premium to use Fedex so for my last order I used Monarch instead.

They also raised their shipping prices. I'm the OP for the Corsair thread and their shipping went from $3.83 to $4.81 for the modules. :(

I've never had a package delivered from UPS that wasn't beat up some. And close to half actually damaged. There're a few other dumb/bad things they've done delivering my things. FedEx has been flawless.

Since this thread has been open so long, anyone with half a brain would be able to determine that the mods consider it to be relevant to the Hot Deals forum.

Remind me who forced you to read this topic again?
