NOT HOT!! Ducane (CO.) grills stopped all lifetime warranty on Gas BBQ grills

I purchased a ducane grills last year. These Were very good grills with a lifetime warranty on parts.
Their slogan was "buy you last grill first" But the co filled for ch11 and weber bought them up. Weber has spun off a co named ducane products co and canceled the lifetime warranty. If purchased before 3/2001 then warranty
is gone. you get zip.... If you purchased after that date then warranty is 3yrs from 3/04. then zip...
This is awful and anyone that has a ducane grill should be up in arms over this and compain to them about this.

If this is not in the correct forum then i apologize and it may be moved or locked but i believe that people should know that their grill may no longer be covered.

Actually, Smartmoney has a serious problem. He sold grills with a lifetime guarantee. The manufacturer has gone bankrupt and was allowed to terminate the lifetime warranties (this was the equivalent of ending a financial obligation). Unfortunately for Smartmoney as the reseller, anyone who bought a grill from Smartmoney and needs a repair can go after Smartmoney and probably win.

This situation happens all the time. The biggest current one that comes to mind is Warranty Gold, the company that sold a LOT of extended automobile warranties. When their reinsurer went bankrupt, Warranty Gold was stuck holding the bag so they've been forced into bankruptcy.

Leave it to a guy that calls himself "The Spud" to consider twice endless. I feel sorry for any girls you come in contact with. Not to mention the slight difference between a topic post and a response.

Yeah, this is the place for hot deals. Public Service Announcements, no matter how well intentioned, belong elsewhere.

Sounds like someone's got a corncob up his ass...

You hit it on the head VaG. These jackoffs who post threads like this here should be banned.

Agree! This type of threads should not belong to the hot deals forums, they should go somewhere else. It isn't like there is a hot sale of grills.

Hoooo hot deal here!

I found the thread interesting, although not necessarily a Hot Deal. All factors included, what's the big deal? This dicussion ended up a flame discussion instead of just letting the thread die naturally. With that in mind, who can really cast stones? We all actually share the blame for replying.

Oh welll....IN!
