NOT HOT - But hard to find MSI X800XT PE $618.26

Anyone that spends anywhere NEAR that price on a video card needs to step back and take a long, hard look at their life.

Looks like Dell is at it again. They delayed my x800 PRO order, then they cancelled my x800xt PE order, and now they're saying that they have the MSI x800xt PE "in stock".

That is total BS. To them, in stock means their vendor has it. According to the customer service rep, Dell doesn't physically see/have the item, nor do they ship it. The vendors (MSI/ATI) are the ones who do all that.

Expect LOTS of delays

probably don't need to peruse the hot deals forums either.

what exactly makes this card worth $500+? Seriously? Is the performance that much better than the similar 9800 Pro? (I didn't think the AGP 8.0 bus was that overloaded yet).

I agree. Someone post a review where this thing crushes the 6800 GT (Which can be had for almost half the price) in more than 1 or 2 games.

Think for a moment that maybe someone still wants this hard to find card. Well if it is in stock somewhere that is hot for them. nice thread crap though.

For a while X800 XT PE cards were going for $900

Also if you have to ask why someone needs a $500 video card, apparently you don't play at high resolutions with all the graphical settings on the max.

I have an ATI 9600XT that cost $149 on a 3.2 ghz PC. I can generally max out everything and still get decent framerates at 1280x1024....is seeing a few extra particles and textures worth an extra $500????
