Bacsially, im moving everything from a seperate partition to a new drive which is meant for storage. Formatting and removing all the useless partitions ;( o lord! :disgust:

ya ;( Well, the one drive which host all the partition is on the IDE with the cd burner which leaves the storage HDD all by itself. I think it should be faster, but im not all that sure.

Dude.. just transfer one drive at a time... it'll take you all night doing 4 drives at once....

Assuming of course that your drive doesn't bitchslap you by crapping out... 😛

um.. think of it this way. Writing/reading to 4 different places AT THE SAME TIME on a drive versus writing/reading from 1 place. now if you know anything about hd's you know that the head has to move to those spots on the disk versus just staying in once place. which do you think is faster?
 
yeah dude..cancel everytyhing and start with the smallest transfer. do only one transfer at a time. btw...get yourself a bigger drive. your drives are like 2gig to 20gig with little free on each.

If they're on different cylinders, then it'll be much faster to do 1 at a time. He's also going to end up with some intense fragmentation if he does all 4 at once.

Naw, my drives are ok:
20gb
30gb
80gb

😉 its alright. I started all this in a rush, which now i have no reason to finish eariler. Im just using my partition software to copy a partition to my new drive. Also, im deleting most of the crap on the partitions so i wont have to move over 10gb on each part.

nope. Like i said above, " i have no pron drive" also i have no "storage drive" I just have partitions with my crap on it. My storage drive is my 80gb which i just got. Confusing?
