Server to server with a crossover cable i get the full 1000Mb or 100 megabytes when transferring a 1gb file, through our switch I get 200-300Mb which is probably due to load balancing which is fine. Its a dell Pe5448. From my laptop dell e6500 through the switch to the server I only see 100Mb even though it says on my laptop im connected at a Gigabit. If i plug my laptop directly in to the server i see 30 Megabits or 3 megabytes if i go through the Pe5448 switch with my laptop i see 100Megabits or 10 megabytes
