O'Bammah was told we dont have enough troops. The quandry is that troop levels were cut under Clinton and Bush (Cheney) to produce a lower military budget and a leaner meaner Army/military.

We just do not have enough ground troops to fight a war in Afghanistan, so the obvious solution is just enlarge the military with more ground troops and less technology.

How fucked up in the brain do you have to be to come to that conclusion?

On a fucking scale from one to one hundred?

The reason Afghanistan is in the piss poor shape it is and the reason that the Taliban troops CANNOT be defeated now is that it was a somewhat war of no real importance.

The Taliban and almost ALL of the Al Quaeda troops of the time were cornered and what was done then?

There is no way, NO WAY this war can be won today, not without 80% civilian casualty ratings, not even with every special forces man on the ground directing the UAV's, it's gone, lost, buried and it was fucking intentional, either that or some FUCKED UP IDIOTS were planning a war when they can't tie their own shoes.

You could send in a million troops and it would make no difference now, sure, in Waziristan you might get something done but not all that much considering the overwhelming majority are now living as "civilians" who are allowed to plan and regroup at any given time.

Naturally, this is the consequence of removing almost all forces that kept them contained, but it was neccessary because Iraq was about to send nukes via RC planes made of balsa wood held together with duct tape.

You want blame, you know where to shove your idiocy when you're done with playing games, no one in his right mind or his wrong mind can deny that GW and his armed division of retards created a BIG LIE (yeah, yeah, i know, Godwins) to start a war they always wanted to start.

I am not sure that a war in Afghanistan is the best idea. The thing is we do not have enough troops to fight a war. The second thing is what are we fighting for? The country is overrun with fields of poppies and drug lords. I dont think poppie fields are worth fighting for unless we plan on burning all the fields every year. No drug infrested country is worth saving.

President O'Bammah does not have the guts to fight the fight. So it is not worth sending only a few men to be slaughtered slowly over time. Even if he waned to send 80,000 troops he would have to ask congress for their approval and funding. We can not expect the NG and the Reserve to keep going to fight the war for poppies. The military has been streched to the breaking point. Congress knows there are not enough troops to keep this up, and they are not willing to increase troop levels. We could put a lot of peole to work if we did. However, then there is the question of should we? We can not protect our own border, but we want to fight a war to protect poppie fields in Afghanistan.

At one point we had 300,000 troops in Iraq. That is what it would probably take.
