OK I've just upgraded my system to 512MB of finest crucial PC133 CAS2 RAM and got the following error messagge in visual studio 6:

"not enough quota available"

I checked in task manager (windows 2000) and it said I'd used 300MB, and still had 200MB spare. So what gives? I have a 512MB swap file.

cheers,

Have you tried letting Windows handle the swap or increase it?
Any updates for VS6?

Well the thing is it never did it with what I had before the upgrade (256MB and 512MB swap).

OK it's not just Visual Studio either. Happens in any program when my memory usage gets to 260 to 300MB. What's going on?

I fried my T-bird when I put 512 mb of ram in,well not relly but it gives me alot of errors and locks up if I have more than 192MB installed ,I changed everything except for the cpu(new mobo,a bunch of memory configurations(different slots, dimms):(Try it with less ram and see if the problem still happens.

Right now I am running it with 128MB pc133 and it works wonderfully.I dont know if oc"ing had anything to do ith it but ever since I installed that (512MB) ram I have been getting those errors.

c'mon I'm sure someone here knows exactly what my problem is. I've tried changing the memory to run at PC100 CAS3 and still get the errors.

Take that extra ram back out and try it, the new stuff could be flaky.

If it still does it, try swapping ram slots.
