Just wanting some sort of idea of whats going on before I purchase more ram.

I have room for another stick of ram and I already have 2x256mb generic installed.

All of the sites includeing the one I ordered from says: "NOT Compatible With Any NVidia Nforce Chipset."
Ex. The one I ordered from.

Maybe I overlooked this or it wasn't there before but the same ram on all sites say this even though mine is working fine.

So I am looking to purchase a generic 512mb stick but now I am wondering if I will have any trouble.

Suggestions?

it may be compatiable with your particular mobos but not all nforce2 mobos

as for another stick, i assume it would work but make sure they have a good policy

Why buy generic RAM? You clearly didn't skimp on your motherboard. You can order a 512 MB of PC3200 Crucial RAM for 20 bucks more with free shipping.

I just figure if 2x256 in my system is already generic why get crucial

The fsb on the ram dont need to be any higher it only goes to 152fsb w/ the dual setup

My current cpu is xp1600+@1600mhz fsb 304

So I figure that I don't need anything better even when I upgrade to a barton xp2500+

Newegg has Geil brand RAM; I use their ValueRAM in two nForce2 systems, without problem. It's not RAM for overclocking though; maybe some of their higher grade stuff will do better. That Golden Dragon WLCSP RAM looks like a nifty idea, but I don't know how well it actually performs.
