Not be negative, but if you're fat don't eat pork rinds

Went to the convenience store this evening, after some fly fishing on my favorite lake, to pickup some milk. Walk in and this lady with a six pack of shitty Steel Reserve beer was at the counter and her daughter was eyeing the candy bars. She then decided to find some pork rinds instead, and the mother who seemed a little plump but not fat like her daughter, insisted to get some candy bars in place of the rinds since the fat ass couldn't find them. What I don't understand is if you know your daughter is fat, why support her poor eating habits?

Some people and their lack of logic!

/end rant

Edit fixed the title from Your to You're

Happy? :p

Pork rinds have got to be better for you than candy bars. Anyway, don't eat pork rinds no matter who you are, they're absolutely disgusting.

A girlfriend lost 25lbs on atkins. She ate a lot of pork rinds since the diet was so restrictive (and proven to be quite unbalanced and unhealthy). A pork rind is just a vehicle for fat and spices - which can be tasty.

Me too, I want to know what happens if your fat doesn't eat pork rinds.

Would candy be better?

Letting your kid have a treat can be a good thing. Furthermore, not all fat people are that way by choice (ie poor diet and lack of exercise are not the only two ways one can become fat)

I'd rather my kid be fat than ignorant

Yeah...

You can have a healthy diet and inappropriate portion sizes, and insufficient exercise...
You can have a good diet, and insufficient exercise...
You can have an atrocious diet, and insufficient exercise...
or you could do no exercise at all...

and get fat.

Basically calories in > calories out = get fat...

I love how someone brings up bad eating habits and there ends up being a landslide of posts defending fat people based on "health issues" causing obesity.

Some people get lung cancer who don't smoke..that doesn't keep us from giving people who smoked and got lunch cancer a hard time. If you're sitting around eating shitty food and you're fat...you deserve to be given a hard time. Sure, a few people who are fat, are fat because of a medical problem...but that is EXTREMELY rare. Most of you who get all touchy on the subject are fat just because you eat really poorly and can't get away from your computer enough to exercise.

I dated a girl in college who had the thyroid problem that is supposed to make you fat. You know what...she took her medication, ate properly based on her Nutritionist's guidelines, and exercised regularly...and guess what...she wasn't fat (she in fact did quite a bit of modeling in Atlanta)...who knew.

My favorite type of fatties are the ones that cruse around in electric wheelchairs stuffing burgers/sausages down their gullet while puffing down a cigarette. Bonus points for having an oxygen tank attached.

And there are simple test for thyroid problems and the meds are easy and cheap as well.

My wife is in this category....she has a severe back injury that will never be repaired, and she can't move for more than 15 minutes much less do any exercise. She would have to eat a VERY low calorie diet to maintain a decent weight (like 1000 calories or less). Right now we're exploring lap band to help her keep weight off.

I hope you're not seriously ragging on my comment. I have no intention of defending the buffet crowd. I was really trying to deflect for the people with the erroneous idea that _every_ fat person can change it.

So, you can continue on with your raggin' now. Just don't be suprised if somebody occasionally calls you on an overbroad generalization - such as, all suv's suck.

You're way off base, it doesn't matter what she was getting to eat, when they started the day I don't think either of them planned on getting food at that gas station. The problem lies in impulse eating, not what you eat on impulse.
