Are you referring to like, visual lists? Like, "Here's a top ten. Each page has a photo of one of the ten, and some information about it."
I find them hit and miss - sometimes, it's more about the page views then anything, other times it seems appropriate. Sometimes, it makes it more bothersome if I simply want a detailed list.
For recipes - ..? Like, a wikihow or howitworks but for recipes? Not sure if I've ever seen such a thing. I've only known recipes as lists of ingredients, followed by directions. Pictures, sometimes, to help with detailed descriptions.
Or it could be full video, like cooking shows. I've never gotten a recipe from a video. Too much to follow along imho. But if they post the recipe, awesome.
Regarding your poll - I voted yes, because I am very visually oriented. I read and hunt for text for articles compared to video, but I rarely want to watch the video just to hear the story, when I could read it. I'm reading all the time online, be it getting lost on wiki, reading news, or reading nonsense (or something worthwhile, it does happen occasionally) on here.
But I do like seeing things, because, if I invest interest in something, I have very photographic memory. The important film, in this case, is that vested interest, that spark that makes me care. I used to be good at just memorizing pages from a textbook, but I think I had a lot of film back then. The internet didn't take over at that point just yet. Now I have too much stupid shit wasting film, and I think that spark of "caring" about something is what drives my brain to dump some of that stupid shit it knows it doesn't need to remember.
