I am not sure if this is a motherboard or a problem with my RAM.
I have an Abit KR7A-RAID and (2) 256MB sticks of Crucial DDR Ram. I have been running this system flawlessly for a year. But a couple days ago I noticed that at bootup, it says I only have 384 MB of ram (1 and a half sticks!). Sandra Sisoft also said I only had 384 MB. I switched sticks around, tried one at a time, and I got random results. Sometimes me computer wouldnt boot up at all, I would get only long beeping sounds. I had to remove my CMOS battery and reset the CMOS before I could get the computer up again. When it came up, it showed all 512 MB RAM and I thought the problem was fixed, but I just noticed again that it was back to 384.

Does anyone know what can be causing this? Or what tests I can run to find out what hardware is at fault.

Have you tried memtest86? May give you some insight.

My first thought is flaky mobo, though.
