As potentially fun as it would be to watch a Trump vs DeSantis dogfight, I really don't think I'm up to it. Don't think the country is up to it. We've just had too much chaos and terror for far too long.
You can watch movies about people being murdered and documentaries about people murdering one another, but after awhile too much is just too much. It can make one physically ill and certainly feeling mentally ill and possibly morally ill as well.

I don't want to see Trump nor DeSantis run for 2024. It would be so terribly ugly to live through, and so terribly harmful to the well being of America and Americans. Can't they both just go away? Just F-king GO AWAY???
We have possibly the two most despicable people on earth here in Trump and DeSantis. Both have proven to be divisive and evil souls hell bent on attacking morities and the weak, and pitting race against race and class against class. And the evil they promote to divide people in the name of religion and in the name of "the family", that in itself should be a major disqualifier for any elective office.

Oh sure, watching the fight might be entertaining in a gross perverted way, but do we really want to see it? To be exposed to it? Want to live through it? And.... can we really take it considering all we have been through and the national damage we have endured together for so long? That national nightmare which has in many ways turned us into monsters. Do we need more of that shit?
I say nope! Not me!

I want to see both of these bastards go far far away from politics, and when we have our next election let it be between people more human. People maybe like oh say Mike Pence or Chris Christy or even Nikki Haley. Biden vs any of those where, as divided as we are as a nation, where we can still come out of it as human beings and not Frankenstein monsters hell belt on the destruction of one other.
Lets purge the poison. Lets just say in unity as Americans, not Trump and not DeSantis.
Lets not do this to ourselves.... yet again.

Meh, there is a certain entertainment factor to the downward spiral that is the GOP. It’s rendered moot by the knowledge that it may well take all of America down with it

It looks like the vast majority of republicans are collecting around DeSantis. I do not think there will be a big interparty fight. Although, Trump screaming on Elon's Twitter will make for some distractions.

The toxic parts of the internet (republican parts) are accepting they were defeated. Quite a lot are blaming Trump and his obsession with Jan 6th. There are a few voices saying Trump is still good, but a lot are looking to move on. The Trump cult looks to be fading fast.

DeSantis has some nasty stuff in Florida he can be attacked on. Don't Say Gay. His handling of Covid. His immigration flights without consent. He is also rather toxic.

A plan to stop DeSantis needs to be developed. The man is evil, and more clever then Trump by a long shot.

It’s inevitable. Unless a Big Mac or Garland takes out one, this showdown will happen. And DeSantis can be taken out by a sane Republican. And without the orange monkey in the equation, I feel less likely Biden will run. He knows his chances against anyone else far lower than repeat of 2020.

I agree we are dealing with crazy and evil with the likes of Trump and DeSantis but I think the solution to eliminating both of them is Trump 2024 Republican nominee for President.

Republicans like a drug addict need to hit rock bottom before they will reform themselves. The people of this country are catching on or have caught on to the crazy that is the current Republicans. Promote Trump. His crazy loyal base will follow him into an all out war against DeSantis. They will destroy themselves and the current Republican Party with them.

as a democrat, I want Trump and DeSantis to fight
Ideally DeSantis gets the nomination and Trump decides to run independent.
Enough votes should be split between the two of them that the Democrat nominee wins easily.

I realize this is playing with fire, but it might be the only chance to save America (even temporarily)

I think that IF they dump trump, they’ll push Youngkin instead of DeSantis.
If the Pubs want to get back to reality. He could be a problem. Semi-sensible republican (as far as Pubs go). He really did pull a fast one to get elected though in my book. Be interesting to see if he waits for which way the wind blows or get's out on the "no more Trump" train.

DeSantis is very popular in Florida right now. I think he is the only one to take on and defeat Trump. He is like Trump, but a much better Trump. More calculating. He is highly educated, and is very good at debates. I could see DeSantis as the next POTUS.

I think most main stream republicans are pretty much done with Trump, I hope so anyway. I wouldn't mind seeing DeSantis run, as far as that goes, I wouldn't mind seeing almost anyone under 60 run.

One thing Trump is correct about is that DeSanstis has the charisma of a wet roll of toilet paper. His personality is being belligerent in forums he can control and little else. As a low key Trump impersonation it sort of works on the surface but I have real questions about how he'd perform under different circumstances in places that are not Florida.

Yeah, I wasn’t impressed by his debating skills at all, I thought he lost his debate or at best tied.

He's not great at debates. He can't answer unfriendly questions at all. It was evident in the one against Crist. He's a cloistered snowflake that will get TORN UP outside his bubble.
