not able to use my plextor 12x on new computer

Built a new system and reinstalled everything. Now my problem is that IDE Plextor 12x isn't recongized correctly. Under device manager it says its a SCSI CD-Rom device and when I tried to install CDRwin I get the error that no atapi manager is found. I installed EZ CD creator and Nero Burning rom, and neither program could burn (error in scsi setting)

currently I have VIA BM Ultra DMA channel installed and via Bus Master Ultra ATA controller installed. This drive was working okay on my other computer, what could be causing this and what can I do to fix it?

What os are you using? Make sure you are using 4.29 or greater via 4 in 1's...I believe early via drivers in win2k had problems by listing devices as scsi when they were not...What is the config of the devices on the given available channels?

my maxtor ata100 controller card is listed on svsi in device manager but the card is correctly listed as ide and the drive is listed as ide
