My Mobo
My Memory

I have a Barton AthlonXP 2600+ that I took from an old mobo. It worked when I was using it there. My graphics card is a GeForce 4 Ti 4200 from Gainward. I have checked to make sure that the graphics card works on another computer.

So far, I have tried three graphics cards, all of them that work on a different computer, on this new mobo, but am not able to get ANY graphics on the monitor. I am using a KVM and I have tested the ports and the cables to make sure they work on another computer. I have also tried to attach the monitor directly to the graphics card. Nothing works.

The mobo seems to work because when the power chord is connected, one LED lights up, and when I turn on the comp, a second LED lights up, as is said in the manual. In addition, there are two lights for each port in my KVM, one is lit when that particular port is selected and the other is lit when that particular port is "On Line". When I turn on the computer with the usb (used for both keyboard and mouse) is turned on, the "On Line" LED is lit, but not when I turn it on with just the monitor connected.

What is my problem? Why am I not able to see ANYTHING on the screen? Please help

Ok, I think I got it. Abit has an absolutely crappy manual. Whoever made the manual made a mistake by giving different pins for the ClearCMOS header. The manual says that pin 1 is on the left, so I set it so that the CMOS was not cleared. Upon further inspection of the motherboard, I noticed that the number '1' was written on the right side. So I set the jumper accordingly, and it worked this time. At least, I got to the screen where it says what devices are connected where. So I hope everything works after this. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Hope you won't be OCing this one - this Mobo, although made by Abit is OC-unfriendly. Nothing in common with the so popular NF2-S.

Nope, I'm not a big overclocker. The proc speed is sufficient for my purposes. And I finally got everything to boot. So its ok.
