We have a higher rate of murder across the board, not just with guns when you compare our crime rates with countries that have lower homicide rates.. So that kinda blows the "guns cause murder" simplistic nonsense out of the water.

What must be addressed is why we kill, not how. Until you address the will, nothing you do about the means will matter.

It's the same with drug abuse.

ok, then why do we have a higher murder rate?

OMG WHY ANOTHER EFFING MICHAEL MOORE THREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/quote]

ok, then why do we have a higher murder rate?
Because there are more restrictive laws here. Prime example: Switzerland.

If reality doesn't fit his bill he edited it to the point where it serves him or his reality! Never mind that he portrays people in a way (editing different sentences totally out of context) that makes them look like real bad people. That is very close to what the Nazi's did to make their "points" believable.

Simply... at the very least he should not have gotten and Oscar and should be known and treated like the liar and opportunist that he is!

Oh, you mean like Canada? Yeah, only police officers have guns here. Even our criminals decide to follow the gun laws. They hold up banks with crossbows now and carjack with chainsaws and hockey sticks.

That's the $64,000 question. Every special interest group thinks their pet peeve is the cause. All are clamoring for more regulation here, and more restrictions there... and the sad thing is, most of these are passed. But the truth is, we had a much lower murder rate when we had far fewer laws. So why, as we add more laws, does our crime rate continue to go up?

I posit that it is not a law enforcement or legislative issue to begin with. It's a social and moral issue. Again, I think it's the same with drug abuse.

Pretty much, yeah. I think the illegality of them has caused more harm than they ever could have. Not to mention I think it's unconstitutional. Unfortunately, if you say this, people automatically think you approve of drug use. I do not.

You might as well have posted "I'm a knuckle dragging Moron" as it would have had the same effect as your original post!

Better REG as in gun id. Murder's can be solved in an insatnt. A national rifling database. All guns bought from said date and up must be registered. I have no problem with that as long as I dont have to gt rid of my guns

Wrong again. Ballistic fingerprinting horribly fails.

Yup, just bought me a Husqavarna with a 1m(39") bar for deer season and home defence. The next time one of those face masked skateless hockey stick hoodlums break-in they're in for a big surprise!

Yep, in every place it's been tried, it has failed to solve a single crime.

Let's face it, putting regulations on legal gun owners has little to no effect on criminals.
