Actually it's KIND of a repost, because when I went to his hacked site I saw that link and read it. If it's even half true it cements my lack of desire to see the movie. The hacked version led to another page that had a similar take on things.

assume all the details mentioned about bowling were false. one key question remains: per capita, do we have a significantly higher gun homicide rate than other countries? and if so, why?

We have a higher homicide, but places like Japan just have a higher suicide rate. Keep in mind half of all our gun deaths are suicides. Read this.

I think the world would be a better place if we got rid of guns. To settle dispute we would use kung fu and have virtual battles like:

Guy#1: You're a prick!

Guy#2: No you are!

Guy#1: Let's fight!

Guy#2: Okay, first I will attack you with my Tiger Claw method [performs Tiger Claw move]. Then I will switch to the Swan Sweep [performs Swan Sweep].

Guy#1: To defend against Tiger Claw, I will use Turtle Shell Defense [performs Turtle Shell Defense] and then use Jumping Dog to avoid your Swan Sweep [performs Jumping Dog]. To counter-attack, I will Praying Mantis Strike [performs Praying Mantis Strike]!

Guy#2: Damn! I have no defense against Praying Mantis Strike. I guess you win.

Guy#1: Thanks. Hey, let's go out for a beer. I'm sorry for calling you a prick.

You guys miss the main point here. Michael Moore is a fraud and a liar!

If reality doesn't fit his bill he edited it to the point where it serves him or his reality! Never mind that he portrays people in a way (editing different sentences totally out of context) that makes them look like real bad people. That is very close to what the Nazi's did to make their "points" believable.

Simply... at the very least he should not have gotten and Oscar and should be known and treated like the liar and opportunist that he is!

We have a higher rate of murder across the board, not just with guns when you compare our crime rates with countries that have lower homicide rates.. So that kinda blows the "guns cause murder" simplistic nonsense out of the water.

What must be addressed is why we kill, not how. Until you address the will, nothing you do about the means will matter.

It's the same with drug abuse.

If you'd read the link, and actually check the facts yourself, you'd note that his so-called "documentary" actually distorts facts and makes others up. It's not an "opinion." It's a deception.

Expressing an opnion is perfectly fine. However when you try to pass off your opnion as a documentary that's where the problem is. A documentary is based on facts and is not a pro one side argument.

There's nothing more we can do without simply banning them. Besides, the AWB sunsets in 2004... can't wait for that :)

If we, the law abiding citizens, got rid of our guns, we risk a higher chance of a government takeover and then only the criminals will have guns.
