I decided to go work at the local sattelite TV company for the summer, basically doing phone support for the local call center. I showed up today kind of dreading the job since I'd been hearing so many negative comments about it. Well I showed up and went through the first of my training, and during breaks started talking to the people that work there. Apparently, the workforce is comprised of 2 types of people... those that can handle phone support, and those that sh!t the bed when doing it. And I've had a lot of prior experience with phone support while working at gateway, so I'm not worried about being able to handle it. According to the people that are there that can handle phone support, the job is actually quite fun. We get to play with all the newest sattelite tech stuff coming out, get to poke around on the network and see how the whole thing works (tracing signals and such), and get to do a lot of other stuff at the same time. A geeks dream come true 😀
Anyways... Week 1 day 1: All is well, and I'm more excited to be on this job than before.
