Are there any PC games out there similar to ICO or Shadow of the Colossus. Both PS2 games?

I'm not a big gamer besides racing games like Gran Turismo. But, the 2 games mentioned above I really enjoyed.

I just upgraded my Q6600 machine. It has an 8800GS Alpha Dog video card, Windows 7 64-bit, and 5GB of RAM. I've overclocked the Q6600 to 3.0ghz. I also have an 80GB SSD.

What's something similar to those games that will run good on this system?

Never had a PS2 to answer that, but if you describe the type of game you like, there's likely a number of PC games you should like. That's a pretty old system, though. It should play most games ok, but I'd guess it'll run into some issues on the games that need more. You can get a 4870 512MB card for $55, as one cheap option.

You could also check gamerankings.com for well reviewed games and browse.

Since you've mentioned both ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, I'm guessing what you're looking for is the atmosphere and melancholic feeling of both games, rather than the gameplay mechanics, in which case I'm not sure what games recreate that.

If it's gameplay though, there is a game with similar boss fights to SotC, it's called Castlevania Lords of Shadow. Judging by the reviews, it's not very good, but it does have the same climb/hold on/get to the weak spot/start waking stile.

I haven't played ICO, but I've played SotC and I can't think of a game that mirrors its atmosphere and style. It's a fantastic game.

I'll have to think more about this.

id say that their are plenty of games that arent out-of-buisness team ICO esque.

so demanding clones or variations of 3 games that will never get replicated ever again is a little silly. your cheating yourself of so much :(

and its true while team-ico isnt actually defunct. they have lost the support of one of their largest retail distributors. so their budget will get noticeably smaller as the months go by to do stuff.

id also like to point out that the last guardian looks kind of dumb. it makes the path look lively XD which is btw another passive adventure game done by an indie company called "a tale of tales"
they have made others..

For atmosphere, I recommend Prince of Persia (2008). Your character runs around the crumbling ruins of an abandoned civilization with a hot chick in a desperate attempt to save the world. Aside from the main bosses and a few enemies here and there, you and the girl are completely alone. The dynamic between the two protagonists as well as the feelings of discovery associated with exploring elaborate, colorful environments really made the game for me. The gameplay is fun, although simple - jumping puzzles and one-on-one combat - but this one is about the story.

Might be a bit stressful on that 8800GS, though. I played it at maximum settings on a 4850 512MB at 1280x1024 and it was smooth for the most part but I encountered slowdowns in the Alchemist's territory.
